It’s often been said the baseball playoffs are a matter of chance, an essentially random group of events from which nothing predictive can be derived. In a sport where 162 games composes an acceptable sample to determine the quality of one team compared with another, on what planet does a best of seven series actually work? Maybe somewhere there is a planet with baseball games comparable to 40.5 Earth baseball games, but it doesn’t work on this one.
